Submission

Okay so I know this is a tough topic for some but its In the Book. (The Bible that is)

Ephesians 2:
; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Definition of
sub⋅mit
verb,
1. to give over or yield to the power or authority of another (often used reflexively).

Courtship

Wikipedia
Courtship is the traditional dating period before engagement and marriage. During a courtship, a couple dates to get to know each other and decide if there will be an engagement. Usually courtship is a public affair, done in public and with family approval.

Sounds different than casual dating or hanging out or even hooking up.

Okay so if its the period before engagement and marriage then maybe our children should wait until they are ready for engagement and marriage. Emotionally I do not think that means that my now 11 year old is ready to date and I doubt that my 14 or 16 year old would be mature enough when that time comes.

I am preparing pure daughters. Oh but you can't shelter them forever well okay but while I have the vessel I can fill it with what is pure and good and let them see through Godly eyes.

Remembering your past. Bruises heal but scars are forever. God does forgive but your choices in life affect who you are. I don't want my daughters to have those scars.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing. I pray that is what my future son in law thinks one day. Also we are to be like the bride of Christ . I want a spotless bride.

All that said I hope to be able to teach this to my children. I also know that I have made mistakes and its under the blood and I am forgiven. If anything should happen in my children's life as they mature I pray that I will remember how I was treated and show unconditional love.

Here is a good website with thoughts on courtship

A WOW moment

James 3

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

South Side Beta Club Begins Season of Giving

By Jessica Cupples
The National Beta Club is a student centered organization that continually develops and nurtures individuals. At this moment the South Side Beta Club is working on a project called the "Red Cross Care Bags."

One gallon zip-lock bags are filled with emergency items including toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, comb, mouthwash, and shampoo. Senceca Gaydon, a senior at South Side, has finished her project.

"I'm in the Beta club because I get the sense of helping people i don't know, " said Gaydon.

"We will do a project every month," said Judy Gammon, Beta Club advisor. "Our biggest project will be the food drive from November to Christmas break," said Gammon. They will need each student in the school to bring five cans. The project will be called: 5 Cans to Feed 500 Families.

To join Beta club you have to have a B average or above. Ninth graders may join after their first report card showing a B average.

The Mountain Mans Fresh Water

The mountain man said that he built his house where he did because that is where the water is. He use to pump the water into the house but it became expensive and it had to be maintained. Now he lets nature do the work. This is some of the clearest water you will see. The water comes down the mountain and is caught in this. This is the water for everything they do. Drinking, cooking and bathing.
