Considering Scriptures, thoughtful and prayerful

King James Bible

1 Corinthians 10:23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Gal 2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Act 10:14
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

Act 10:15
And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.

1Ti 4:4
For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

1Ti 4:5
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Mar 7:18
And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, [it] cannot defile him;

Mar 7:19
Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

Remembering

"You may say we were sheltered but we say we were blessed"

That is a quote from my mothers funeral.

At the end of sharing the eulogy my sister finished describing our mother so well. She said these words. " I can only imagine". As my sister walked off the platform a beautiful video of this song began to play. My mother loved God and love life. I can only imagine what she must be doing. I told my daughters any day you walk on streets of gold is a good day. Today is a good day.

This is not the same video that was played but I like how she is sharing her heart. Plus I like the quote. Show them the cracks in the armor that is how the light gets out.

Thankful

Wining Battles and being thoughtful

Being an independent person its hard to admit that sometimes I need encouragement or support. I do however have a wonderful family and friends and church that give support very well.

The story of Moses battle with Amalek has been on my mind. As long as Moses hands were raised the battle was won. I think the interesting part is that Moses needed his friends to hold his hands up until the battle was won. I guess this story shows that sometimes we do need others to help hold us up.

Exodus 17:12-13 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Eph 6:18 ‘With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.’

17:11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

17:12 But Moses' hands [were] heavy; and they took a stone, and put [it] under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

What's for supper

My supper tonight was a salad of cucumber, tomato, raspberries and blueberries. I also had a dish of turkey and vegetables sauted with onion, garlic and some spicy tomato and peppers and spices.

For the children I served the meat dish over egg noodles. They requested it for lunch tomorrow. Thumbs up.

What do you eat?

I am on a diet. I hope that it is actually a life change. So far I have lost 12 lbs. The question asked often is .... What do you eat? The answer is lots of fresh vegetables and some whole grains plus water and more water. Add in an hour of exercise a day and you have my current life.
