Peace




I had sat my camera on the kitchen counter. When I looked down at the camera this is the picture I saw. I think this is a peaceful picture of my kitchen.

What's for supper?




The last two nights supper has been fresh blackeyed peas, cornbread dressing, homemade bread, and cranberry sauce.
We have been cooking from what is in the pantry. This is a good way to save money and use up things left in the house.

A Picture Guide of how to make Bread

Picture of the ingredients I used


2 pkg. active dry yeast
2 1/2 cup warm water
4 Tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp salt
1/4 cup honey

This is with 2 cups unbleached bread flour and the above ingredients listed
This is with 4 cups unbleached bread flour


This is with 6 cups flour (4 cups unbleached bread flour and 2 cups white wheat)


Mixing it together but not completely kneeding see how sticky


Transfered mixture to another bowl and poured olive oil on top
Covered with a towel and placed in a warm spot in my kitchen for 45 min.


Spray loaf pans with no stick cooking spray


Dough after 1 hour note: Dough was punched down and allowed to rise again before going to next step (pictures omited)



Dough taken out of the bowl and laid on the kitchen counter
Dough cut in half for 2 loves


Dough rolled out with flour added to the counter and rolling pin


Bread shaped into loaves and placed in pans


Dough after rising 40 min
Bread after being baked at 375 for 35 min. then buttered on top

Bread covered and allowed to cool
